ELECTION NOTIFICATION

Chandigarh, 20th September, 2016: In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (4) of Section 5 of the Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976 as extended to the Union Territory, Chandigarh, by the Punjab Municipal Corporation Law (Extension to Chandigarh) Act, 1994 (Act, No. 45 of 1994), and supersession of earlier notification No.6/1/45-FII(8)-2016/5889 dated 25/9/2006, the Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, is pleased to determine the number of seats of elected Councillors reserved for members of Scheduled Castes, based on Census-2011, to be filled by direct election as “Five”.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
