Inauguration of “Aashiana”- Building for the Welfare of Children

Chandigarh, 29th September, 2016: Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chandigarh today inaugurated the upgraded Aashiana building for the welfare of children. “Aashiana” formally known as Balniketan is being run by Chandigarh Child & Women Development Corporation (CCWDC) under the aegis of Social Welfare Department. This Home is providing facilities of residential accommodation to children of 0-7 years age group.  It was functioning in the old building till August, 2015.  With the initiative of Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, U.T. Chandigarh, the work for the up-gradation of “Aashiana” was taken up by the Engineering Department, U.T. Chandigarh and the building has been revamped.

 The chief guest was welcomed by the officials of the administration namely, Dr. S.B. Deepak Kumar, IAS, Secretary Social Welfare Women & Child Development, Ms. Nishu Singal, HCS, Director Social Welfare Women & Child Development, Sh. Mukesh Anand, CE, U.T. Chandigarh and Saurabh Joshi, Area Counselor.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh
