Preventive activities for the control of Dengue and Chickungunya

Chandigarh, 27th September, 2016: Today  15 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes 9 new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 274 in the city. One new case of Chickungunya has been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. The details of31 cases of chickungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 7 imported, 7 wrong address and 17 from Chandigarh.
To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Today under dengue drive

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
