Chandigarh,
21st October, 2016: Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch,
Chandigarh organized an awareness-cum-enrollment Camp today at Community
Centre, Sector 35, Chandigarh in the series of unique venture “Doctor Aapke Dwar -
Home Health for Elderly” with an aim of providing health care to the
elderly at their doorsteps and helping them stay comfortably in their home
environment. Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament graced the occasion
as Chief Guest.
The Senior Citizens of
nearby sectors attended the said camp where an interactive session was
conducted by Dr. Manjit Singh from Govt. Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16,
Chandigarh on Health Awareness, general diseases, their preventions and balance
diet followed by an interactive session on Cancer Awareness by Dr. Minni Arora,
Medical Officer, Chandigarh Hospice, Sector 43, Chandigarh.
The Chief Guest
appreciated the initiative taken by the Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh
with an active support of Chandigarh Administration and other alliances for
this noble cause for the welfare of Old Age People residing in Tricity in order
to resolve the health related issues.
Smt. Kirron Kher also
handed over the keys of Ambulance to Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Secretary Red
Cross which has been donated by Smt. Usha Rani in the memory of her son Gaurav
Sharma son of Late Sh. Rampal Sharma resident of House No.1189, Sector 42-B,
Chandigarh.

Popli, PCS, Secretary, IRCS, Chandigarh, Smt. Harjinder Kaur, Ex. Mayor, Area
Counselor and other officials from U.T. Red Cross were present during the
camp.
