Celebrations for 51 years of Le Corbusier

Chandigarh, 17th October, 2016: To celebrate 51 years of Le Corbusier, the Government Museum and Art Gallery had invited Antonio Puri to showcase his Chandigarh series of paintings and installations. The exhibition entitled “I love the beauty of grey” was on view from 27th September to 16th October, 2016. The show received tremendous response from the visitors. It has now been extended by a week and will be closing on 23rdOctober, 2016. So those who have missed out on the show, do visit the first level of the Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
Antonio Puri was born in Chandigarh and raised in the Himalayas where he attended English and International boarding schools. Later he attended the Academy of Art in San Francisco and Coe College in Iowa for a bachelors degree in Art and later a JD degree from the University of Iowa.  He has exhibited his work in solo exhibitions all over the world including Art Depot, Austria, The Guild, NY, Nu Art Gallery in Santa Fe, Twelve Gates, Philadelphia, Philadelphia Art Alliance, and a two person show at the Noyes Museum, NJ. 

He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide including venues like Sundaram Tagore Gallery, New York, Essl Museum, Austria, Hammond Museum, NY, Queens Museum, NY, Gallery Espace, New Delhi, Edsviks Konsthall, Stockholm, MOP Gallery, Sydney, Musee du Chateau, France, Corcoran Gallery in DC, and Minneapolis Institute of Arts, MN, among others.  Museum collections include National Gallery of Modern Art, Mauritius, Noyes Museum, NJ, Essl Museum, Austria, Musee du Chateau, France, and Bergen Museum of Art and Science, NJ, His work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Indian Express, Art das Kunstmagazin, among several other periodicals.  He has done residencies in Hungary, Bulgaria, South Africa, Serbia, Mauritius, India, Denmark, and Romania.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
