Chandigarh Arts & Heritage Festival 2016

Chandigarh, 4th October, 2016: A press conference was held today at the U.T. Guest House regarding the upcoming Chandigarh Arts & Heritage Festival 2016 to be held from 6th to 9th October, 2016. Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs, Chandigarh Administration appraised the media during the conference on the various events to be held during the festival.

Starting from 6th October, 2016 the official Inauguration of the Chandigarh Arts & Heritage Festival 2016 will be done by Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor Punjab & Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh with a Cake Cutting Ceremony on the birthday of Le Corbusier at the Capitol Complex at 11:00 am. This would be followed with the launch of the official website of Capitol Complex. Other activities planned throughout the day include a Heritage Walk which will be from the Rose Garden to the Government Museum till the Capitol Complex at 6:30 am. This will be followed by a Treasure Hunt which will begin at 8:00 am and extend up to 10:30 pm. Adding to this would be an Art Installation Workshop at 10:30 am at the Open Hand Chandigarh. The concluding event of the day would be the Le Corbusier Memorial Lecture to be delivered by Ar. Karan Grover at the Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh from 6:30 pm onward.


On the remaining days the following events will be organized:
7th October, 2016
·        Art Installation Workshop at Open Hand Chandigarh from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
·     Folk Dance from different states of India at Sector-17 Plaza, Chandigarh from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
·  Classical Dance Performance by Manjari Chaturvedi at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh from 6:30 pm onward.
8th October, 2016
·        Art Installation Workshop at Open Hand Chandigarh from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
·     Folk Dance from different states of India at Sector-17 Plaza, Chandigarh from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
·        Hasya Kavi Samelan at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh from 3:00 pm onward.
·     A hilarious family comedy play “Taak Jhank” at Tagore Theatre from 6:30 pm onward.
9th October, 2016
·        Closing of Art Installation Workshop at Open Hand Chandigarh from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
·        Sufi and Folk singing at Sector-17 Plaza, Chandigarh from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
·     Showcasing of wall painting murals Sector-16 General Hospital, Chandigarh from 4:00 pm onward.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
