Chandigarh, 14th
October, 2016: As per the order of Commissioner Food Safety, a
joint team of Food Safety Officers Sh. Bharat Kanojia, Sh. Surinder Pal Singh
& Sh. Bhaljinder Singh was constituted in lieu of the coming festival
season for conducting inspection and sampling of food articles in UT of
Chandigarh. On 14-10-2016 the team inspected area of Sector 18, Shanti nagar,
Pipliwala Town, Mariwala Town of Manimajra, Chandigarh and seized three samples
of different sweets. The said seized samples have been sent to the Food
Analysis Laboratory for analysis & examination. Two improvement notices
were also issued to these shops for not maintaining the hygienic conditions.
About 130 kgs of sweets were destroyed which were found exposed to dust &
flies and were unfit for human consumption.
The FBOs were also advised not to use any prohibited colours in the
preparation of sweets and to use good quality of edible oil and ghee in their
preparations. The Food vendors were
also instructed to keep hygiene and quality standards as per Food Safety &
Standards Act, 2006.
Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
