Preventive Activities by Health Department

Chandigarh, 3rd October 2016:  Today 23 cases of Dengue have been reported from various health institutions which includes 14 new cases and 9 confirmed amongst probable cases (till the release of press note) which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 444 in the city. No fresh cases of Chikungunya have been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. The details of 60 cases of Chikungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 16 imported, 17 wrong address and 27 from Chandigarh.

To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Today under dengue drive

Free Dengue testing facility is available at Department of Virology, PGIMER Chandigarh, Department of Microbiology GMCH-32, GMSH-16 and District Priority Lab (IDSP) at Civil Hospital Manimajra.
