Promotion of Kala Utsav by the Education Department

Chandigarh, 4th October, 2016: Kala Utsav is an initiative of MHRD to promote Art in Education. The 2ndevent of this state level extravaganza - Music competition, was organized today at GMSSS- 10 under the hostship of, Principal-cum-Venue Coordinator Mr. Harbir Singh Anand. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, Chandigarh Administration who inaugurated the event and gave his best wishes to the participants and the organizers of this event. Mr. Chanchal Singh, DDSE, Ms. Saroj Mittal, DDVE-cum-DDSE (RMSA), Ms. Suman Sharma, DDAE-CUM-Mission coordinator RMSA, Ms. Vinay R. Sood, DEO and Ms. Sukhneer Kaur, DDEO-3 graced the occasion with their presence. 15 schools showcased their talents in this competition.The nodal officer Mrs. Anujit Kaur DDEO-II, Ms. Neeta Sandhu, Principal GMSSS- 16, Ms. Rajni Mahajan, Pedagogy Coordinator, Ms. Sukhraj Kaur and CRCs were present at this event. The judges critically evaluated each and every entry as per the guidelines specified by the MHRD/NCERT and gave an unbiased decision.
The aim of this event wasto nurture and showcase the artistic talent of school students at secondary stage and act as a platform to bring art to the center stage in an inclusive environment. During 2016-17 Kala Utsav is being held in four areas i.e.Music, Dance, Theatre and Visual arts, having the theme “Living Traditions of Art". On the basis of the judgement, GMSSS-Karsan (Team no. 212) secured the 1st position; GMSSS-33(Team no. 213)secured the 2nd position and GMSSS- 10(Team No. 210)secured the 3rd position.

Public Camp Chandigarh, 28 January, 2016 :-  It is for the information of the general public that the public camp for 29/01/2016 is to be held at community centre of Sector 45. The sectors covered in the camp would be Sector 44, 45 including burial Village, 46 and 33 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM.
