Special Drive conducted by Health Department

Chandigarh, 10th October, 2016: A special drive was launched today at village Khajeri and the team was led by Assistant Director Malaria and state Epidemiologist and another team checked the area of Ram Darbar and the team was led by Dr. Gaurav Agarwal, Anti Malaria Officer in the presence of prominent persons of the area,  Yesterday fogging was done at Sector 38 B, 28 B and C alongwith 38 west by vehicle mounted and hand held fogging machines and  today will be done Maloya, Raipur Khurd and Sector 41
Today 9 cases of Dengue has been reported from various health institutions which includes 3 new cases and 6 confirmed amongst probable with one wrong address cases(till the release of press note)which brings the total number of Dengue cases to 550 in the city. No fresh cases of Chickungunya have been reported by GMCH 32 and PGIMER. The details of 78 cases of chikungunya detected in Chandigarh is; 23 imported, 22 wrong address and 33 from Chandigarh.

To further strengthen the preventive activities, daily fumigation is being carried out alongwith strengthening of field activities which includes mass awareness, checking of breeding sources like coolers, containers, tyres and other sources. Today under dengue drive
