Workshop held on Food Safety Awareness for Food Business Operator

Chandigarh, 10th October, 2016: A workshop on Food Safety Awareness for Food Business Operator dealing in business of sweets manufacturing, wholesale/ retail sale, was organised on dated 10-10-2016 at Village Manimajra, by the Department of Food Safety and Standards, Chandigarh Administration. Food Business Operators were made aware about various provisions of Food Law and were guided how to maintain good hygiene and sanitation in the workplace.

A joint team of Food Safety Officers Sh. Bharat Kanojia, Sh. Surinder Pal Singh and Sh. Bhaljinder Singh inspected various sweet shops in villages Dhanas, Khudda Jassu, Khudda Ali sher and seized samples of sweets. The team also raided one of the Edible oil Packaging unit situated in Industrial Area-I, Chandigarh and seized samples of different oil brands.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
