Chandigarh, 5th October, 2016:
A workshop on Food Safety Awareness for Food Business Operator dealing in business
of sweets manufacturing, wholesale/ retail sale, Dhaba Walas was organised today
at Village Daria by the Department of Food Safety and Standards, Chandigarh
Administration. Food Business Operators were made aware about various
provisions of Food Law and were guided how to maintain good hygiene and
sanitation in the workplace. They were also told:
1.
To get Food License from
the department.
2.
Not to use synthetic
colour in food articles
3.
Use only silver leaves in
the decoration of sweets.
4.
Use good quality of edible
oil
5.
Workers must wear proper
caps and aprons.
6.
Cover all prepared sweets with
proper net.
7.
Use potable water for the
preparation of sweets.
8.
Install proper fly killer
in the workshop.
