Chandigarh, 13th November, 2016:  The 8th Annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, jointly organized by the Chandigarh Administration and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) at Kalagram concluded with a bang. The ten day long Rajasthan themedMela kept a special focus on folk traditions, arts and crafts of the region.

A splash of colours, rhythm of drum beats and joy de-vivre merged on the final day of the Crafts Mela. The richness and diversity of the handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabrics attracted thousands of people from distant parts of the city.

Keeping in view the overwhelming response, the numbers of ticket counters were increased this year, which ultimately helped the visitors a lot. Food is yet another reason that attracts huge crowd at such events and keeping up to the expectations of food lovers the food court served rich Indian cuisines from different traditions.

Last day showcased a host of programmes of performing arts, with artistes from Rajashtan performing folk songs and dance to an enthralling audience. The fun filled ten days gave the glimpse of Start nights celebrated artists performed daily in the evening. Chandigarh today grooved to the tunes of Daler Mehendi, the voice of Punjab and the most entertaining singer who has also contributed in the Indian Film cinema. Folk music, dances and musical evening added a zing to the Crafts Mela today. Rangoli and Folk Painters’ Camp by renowned artists were another attraction of this Mela. Many VVIPs/VIPs and other dignitaries from the Government of India also paid their visit at the much love Crafts Mela.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
