National Lok Adalats

Chandigarh, 11th November, 2016: The National Lok Adalats are being organized throughout the country every month during the year 2016 on a specified subject matter.   State Legal Services Authorities have been requested to hold monthly National Lok Adalat on a specified subject matter during the year 2016.  In addition to monthly National Lok Adalats, the State Authorities are requested to hold one National Lok Adalat exclusively for all matters, both pre-litigation and pending during the month of November/December, 2015.
The Hon'ble Chief Justice of India and Hon'ble Executive Chairman, NALSA has directed that the National Lok Adalat for all matters may be organized throughout the country right from Taluk level court to Supreme Court on 12.11.2016.
The following types of cases that are presently pending in the Courts at various levels will be taken up for disposal at the National Lok Adalat.
1.  Criminal compoundable cases.
2.  Negotiable Instruments Act under Section 138.
3.  MACT cases: Accident Information Report (AIR) case should also be taken up in MACT as also state Transport cases.
4.  Matrimonial/family Courts cases.
5.   Labour disputes including cases where re-employment with no back wages (as per policy) could be disposed of and including cases relating to liquidation where claims of industrial workers for wages and other benefits are pending.
6.  Land Acquisition cases including relating to Industrial Boards, land acquisition for ONGC, Railways and other centrally sponsored schemes and also land acquisition executions.
7.  Civil cases- rent, bank recovery, easmentary rights, Debt Recovery Tribunal Cases.
8.  Revenue cases.
9.  MNREGA       .
10. Electricity and water bills (excluding theft cases)
11. Cases relating to sales tax, income tax, indirect tax (CESTAT) other revenue matters in Mumbai/Delhi other commercial centres.
12. Service matters relating to pay and allowances and retrial benefits.
13. Forest Act cases.
14. Cantonment boards matters.
15. Railway claims.
16. Disaster compensation.
17. Misc. Appeals, criminal appeals, civil appeals, 2nd appeals, original suits, writs, MACT appeals before the Hon'ble High Court.
18. Covered matters.

The focus would be laid on the old pending cases, in the aforesaid subject matters and Pre-litigation cases will also be taken up.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
