Chandigarh, 12th November,
2016: The
ninth day of 8th Annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, which is being
jointly organized by the Chandigarh Administration and North Zone
Cultural Centre (NZCC) at Kalagram witnessed huge crowd of visitors, with
people from tricity and nearby areas visiting the Mela to experience the rich
culture of Rajashtan. Thousands of visitors daily feel delighted to revel in
the colors and flavours of distant corners of the country.
A one stop destination, the
Rajasthan themed Crafts Mela has vibrant
stalls, dance performances by folk artists, mouth-watering cuisines, melodies
streaming from musical instruments and breathtaking artifacts from all parts
of the country. The main attraction of the ninth day of the
Crafts Mela was the dynamic Qawali performance by Sh. Anwar Rehmat Khan &
Party. Gurlez Akhtar & Kulwinder
Kelly also gave stunning performances during the event. The king of
Punjabi music, Daler Mehendi would be rock the crowd with his power pact
performance of the last day of Crafts Mela.
During the 10 days of the Chandigarh National
Crafts Mela, celebrated/Star artists will perform daily in the evening.
Rangoli and Folk Painters’ Camp by renowned artists will be another
attraction of this Mela. The youth especially the students will get an
opportunity to know about the rich cultural heritage of our country.

Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
