Seventh Day of 8th Annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela

Chandigarh, 10th November, 2016:  The seventh day of 8th Annual Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, which is being jointly organized by the Chandigarh Administration and North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) at Kalagram witnessed huge crowd of visitors, with people from tricity and nearby areas visiting the Mela to experience the rich culture of Rajashtan. Thousands of visitors daily feel delighted to revel in the colors and flavours of distant corners of the country.

A one stop destination, the Rajasthan themed Crafts Mela has vibrant stalls, dance performances by folk artists, mouth-watering cuisines, melodies streaming from musical instruments and breathtaking artifacts from all parts of the country that are the highlights of the Mela. The main attraction of the seventh day of the Crafts Mela was the electrifying performance by the renowned Punjabi singer, Satwinder Bugga. A boon for music and dance lovers, the eight day of the Crafts Mela will witness the performance of a enchanting music artist Jaspinder Narula, who has fan following in all age groups.


During the 10 days of the Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, celebrated/Star artists will perform daily in the evening. Rangoli and Folk Painters’ Camp by renowned artists will be another attraction of this Mela. The youth especially the students will get an opportunity to know about the rich cultural heritage of our country. 
Highlights of 8th Chandigarh National Crafts Mela, 2016
1.     Theme of the Crafts Mela is ‘Rajasthan’.
2.     Increase in number of tickets counters.
3.     Total numbers of Huts are approx. 170 wherein 12 stalls have been earmarked for Chandigarh for the best crafts persons of Tricity.
4.     Food court offering rich Indian cuisines for different traditions.
5.     Tunnels + Camels Rides + Rangoli have been introduced this time.

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
