Chandigarh, 3rd Nov, 2016: In exercise of the powers conferred under section 34 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 read with Rule 31 of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules, 2010, and in view of Govt. of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education Literacy, New Delhi, Letter No. F.No. 8-24/2011 EE4 dated 13.02.2013, the Administrator UT, Chandigarh is pleased to constitute State Advisory Council of UT, Chandigarh as detailed below:-

·        The function of the State Advisory Council shall be to advise the State Government on implementation of the provision of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009 (and Rules made there under) in an effective manner.
·        The terms of the council will be for a period of two years from the date of notification.
·        The council may invite representation of other related departments as and when required.

Administrator Launches Website of Sports Department Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 18 th  December 2018:  The website of Department of Sports, UT Chandigarh  http://www.sportsdeptt.chd. gov.in  has been launched today  by Hon’ble Governor Punjab & Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh, Shri. V. P. Singh Badnore, in the presence of Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to UT Administration,  Sh. J.M. Balamurugan, IAS, Secretary to Governor of Punjab, Sh. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
