Team of Nottingham City Council gave Presentation in Smart City Workshop

Chandigarh, 8th November, 2016: A two day workshop on Smart City began today at U.T, Guest House, Chandigarh where the team from Nottingham City Council would be giving presentation on three main segments- Waste Management, Incubation and Transport. On the first day of the workshop, presentation was given on Waste Management and Incubation.

Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, the Adviser to the Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh, Sh. Baldeo Purushartha, IAS, Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Sh. Manoj Khatri, HCS, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, representatives from Punjab University, Punjab Engineering College, officers from other related areas were present during the workshop.

The Adviser to the Administrator asked the team of Nottingham City Council to share their ideas and proposals citing that Chandigarh is already a beautiful place, but we need to make more efforts to make Chandigarh a better place to live. “We would like to learn from your experiences in all the three areas and make the existing system better with your assistance,” said Sh. Parimal Rai.


The workshop would continue tomorrow where concrete solutions would be discussed to improve all these three segments in Chandigarh.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
