Chandigarh, 11th December, 2016: The
401st meeting of the Chandigarh Housing Board was held on 9.12.2016.
The following is a gist of the major decisions that were taken by the Board :-
1.

Calculation
of Penal interest in respect of Housing Scheme of Sector-63, Chandigarh.
|
The Board has
decided to calculate the penal interest upon the unpaid due amount of the
installments from the due date of installment instead of on the whole amount of
installment in respect of General Self Financing Housing Scheme – 2008, Sector
63, Chandigarh, to facilitate the allottees of the scheme, who had, at some
time or other, by mistake or otherwise, failed to pay the full due amount of
the installment(s).

Renting out
the vacant dwelling units to the Residents Welfare Association, Sector 63,
Chd.
|
The Board has accorded
approval to provide vacant dwelling units on rental basis to the Registered and
elected Residents Welfare Association, Sector 63, Chandigarh, as well as all
other sectors/areas/colonies subject to the conditions
that dwelling units will be used by the RWAs for office purposes only, and no misuse of the property shall be
allowed, and the property will be vacated as and when required by Chandigarh
Housing Board, Chandigarh.

Timely payment to the Contractors against the
work done by them.
|
The Board has decided that
the concerned officer/s should adhere to the time schedule given in the CPWD
Works Manual for payment to the contractors on account of work done by them, in
order to avoid payment of interest for unjustifiably delayed payments. The
documents pertaining to the Sector-63 Housing project had been taken by the
C.B.I and therefore, the concerned officer/s are directed to make permissible
payments after deductions of the recoveries from the contractors and imposing
penalties, if any are leviable. A committee consisting of 3-4 members be
constituted to give a consolidated report to the Chairman, Chandigarh Housing
Board, regarding status of work done and the payments released to the
contractors after the close of financial year, i.e, 31st March every
year.

Timely disposal of cases of Arbitration.
|
It has been decided that
whenever any contractor/s invokes an arbitration clause as per the provisions
of the CPWD Works Manual, Chandigarh Housing Board should appoint an Arbitrator
immediately for resolution and closure of the matters.
