Meeting of Indian Buildings Congress

Chandigarh, 02nd January, 2017:  A meeting of Indian Buildings Congress (IBC) members from Chandigarh regarding Establishment of IBC Chandigarh Chapter was held today under the chairmanship of Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh cum President  IBC. The meeting was attended by the President IBC, Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board, Sh. Pardeep Mittal Honorary Secretary of IBC, Sh. Manoj Arora, Director PEC and the members of IBC, Chandigarh.  The President IBC in his key note address highlighted the role of IBC in the current scenario in the Country and stressed upon need to have more knowledge sharing platform within the members to strengthen the IBC. The President also informed that the IBC is celebrating its Silver Jubilee which was formed in the year 1992.

In order to strengthen the IBC, it was proposed to establish IBC Chandigarh Chapter and the Hon’ble President has nominated Sh. Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer, UT as President of IBC, Chandigarh  Chapter. Accordingly, the Management Committee of Chandigarh was elected consisting of Sh. C.B. Ojha, Vice President, Sh. Rajiv Singla, Secretary, Sh. N.P. Sharma, Treasurer. The other members shall be nominated by the President subsequently, if required.

                    Prof. Manoj Arora, Director, PEC stressed upon enrollment of Engineering students as IBC members to have more practical knowledge during their graduation period. It was also proposed by him that the IBC Chandigarh Chapter shall function from the premises of PEC, Sector-12, Chandigarh. It was also decided that the next Mid Term Session of IBC shall be held at Chandigarh in the 1st week of April, 2017.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
