Semimar on GST: Overview and Challenges Held at Hotel Mountview

Chandigarh, 19th January, 2017: Excise & Taxation Department, Chandigarh Administration organized a Seminar on “GST: Overview and Challenges” at Hotel Mount View, Chandigarh today.  Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T, Chandigarh was the chief guest on the occasion. Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Sarvjit Singh, IAS, Finance Secretary-cum-Secretary Excise & Taxation, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Excise & Taxation Commissioner and Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Additional Excise & Taxation Commissioner were also present during the occasion.

 Sh. Rajan Datt, IRS, Joint Commissioner, Central Excise; Sh. Ravneet Khurana, IRS, Deputy Commissioner (GST), CBEC, New Delhi and Sh. Ajay Jagga were the keynote speakers who threw ample light on the various parameters of GST.
The seminar was attended by various Trade Associations of the Chandigarh like Beopar Mandal, Industry Association, Grain Market Association, Marble Market Association, Chamber of Commerce and others.

Sh. Raman Datt, Joint Commissioner, Sh. Ravneet Khurana Commissioner (GST) and Sh. Ajay Jagga, Advocate gave overview on the challenges on GST and also replied the queries raised by the different Trade Associations. Out of 16,500 registered dealers 12,000 have already being registered themselves on the GSTN Portal successfully.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
