February, 2017: E-auction of Residential lease hold/free
hold and Commercial lease hold properties have commenced w.e.f 1.2.2017. Two
properties i.e. one residential and one commercial on lease hold basis have
been put to auction on 1.2.2017 (3:00 pm IST) and the auction process will
continue upto Wednesday i.e. 8.2.2017 (3:00 p.m IST) and similar process will
be followed in respect of the remaining vacant properties. The auction process
is open for any citizen of India as well as NRIs/PIOs above 18 years of age
after getting himself/herself registered with e-auction portal of Chandigarh
Housing Board after the payment of prescribed registration fee of
Rs.1500/- + Service Tax of 15% i.e. a total of Rs.1725/-. The e-Auction of
above property/ies would be conducted strictly within the scheduled date and
time mentioned against each property by way of bidding amongst the bidders and
the bidder shall improve their offer in multiples of an amount i.e.
Rs.50,000/-(for residential) / Rs.1.00 Lac (for commercial) mentioned under the
column “Bid-increase amount” against each property. The detailed terms and

Chandigarh 10 th August 2017: In compliance of the directions of the Government of India to take steps for improvement of ranking in “Ease of Doing Business’ index, the Chandigarh Administration has notified Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017. The existing building byelaws/orders/notifications issued from time to time have been reviewed bya committee. Since amendments to the building Rules were never compiled before, therefore, comparative analysis of existing building byelaws applicable in Chandigarh was done viz-a-viz Haryana Building Code 2016, TCPO Model Building Byelaws 2016 and NBC 2017. This exercise has simplified the building Rules as each and every rule has been tabulated and individual chapters including Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Institutional, IT Park, High Rise buildings etc. The report had been earlier approved by the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh after seeking views from general public.
