54th National Maritime Day 2017


Chandigarh, 5th April 2017: The company of Master Mariners of  India (CMMI) Chandigarh Chapter Executive under the Chairmanship of Capt K S Sujlana Pinned the wearing apparel of the Advisor to the Administrator U.T. Chandigarh, Sh Parimal Rai to celebrate the 54th National Maritime Day 2017.

National Maritime Day is celebrated all over India on 5th April every year in commemoration of sailing of fist Indian Flag Vessel “S S Loyalty” from Mumbai to London in 1919.

The week long annual all India celebrations are usually inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Shipping, India pinning the wearing apparel of Hon’ble Prime Minister with the NMD Pin.

Company of Master Mariners of India Chandigarh Chapter is a Professional body of Serving, Future and Ex Seafarers and is a part of 14 Nationwide Chapters with HO in Mumbai which is affiliated to CMMI UK. Its objective includes spreading word of Merchant Navy and advice Government and Authorities in marine matters.

CMMI had earlier, as a part of NMD Celebrations conducted a Seminar on the topic “ Connecting India through Shipping” on 31st March, 2017 at the CII Hall, Chandigarh and laid Wreath at the War Memorial, Sector-3, Chandigarh this morning in memory of those who had lost their lives at Sea.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
