Chandigarh, 1st April 2017: Working under the able guidance of
Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner,
Chandigarh-cum-President, SPCA-Chandigarh is touching new heights in the field
of Animal Welfare every day. In continuation of the process of
animal welfare, SPCA with the co-ordination of Animal
Husbandry Department Chandigarh organized
“Adoption-cum-Rehabilitation camp on 1st April, 2017. The adoption camp was
inaugurated by Capt. Karnail Singh, Director-cum-vice president
(SPCA), Animal Husbandry Chandigarh Administration in the presence
of Dr. KanwarjitSingh Joint Director-cum-HGS(SPCA), Animal Husbandry
Chandigarh and Dr. Baljeet Singh Veterinary Officer, Dhanas.
In
the camp total five dogs were adopted and one horse and one goat were
rehabilitated. The horse and goat were found abandoned and injured badly
along the road side by SPCA Volunteers. The animals were treated and taken care
for the last two years by SPCA these animals have been rehabilitated by
shelter home named “All Creature Great and Small” located in Faridabad.
During
the event twenty volunteers from BHUMI Foundation
also participated in the cleanness drive at SPCA. BHUMI Foundation is one
of the volunteer group which work for the welfare of the society.
