National Immunization Day

Chandigarh, 1st April, 2017: National Immunization Day (NID) Pulse Polio Campaign April round is scheduled from 2nd to 4th April 2017. 460 booths are set up to cover children in the age group of 0-5 Years. The children, who are left on day 1 i.e. on 2nd April in 2017, will be covered by House to House Activities on 2nd & 3rd Day.

According to Dr. Rakesh Kashyap, Director Health Services, U.T Chandigarh, a total of 929 teams comprising of more than 2,000 volunteers from NSS, Health department, Police department, department of Social Welfare along with Transport department are working tirelessly to make this campaign successful. Advertisement in the leading newspapers, Radio Jingles & appeal to the general public on air including SMS alerts are being used to create Mass Awareness among the parents of the children in this age group.

Sh. Anurag Agarwal IAS, Home Secretary-cum-Health  Secretary U.T, Chandigarh appealed to all the citizens of Chandigarh to mobilize their children in the age group of 0-5 Years to their nearest polio booth for Oral Polio Vaccine.
