Chandigarh Theatre Festival

Chandigarh, 23rd May, 2017: Department of Cultural affairs, Chandigarh Administration along with Tagore Theatre society is organising Chandigarh Theatre Festival from 26th to 28th May 2017, at Tagore Theatre, sector 18 Chandigarh. In view of the same a press conference was organised today at U.T Guest house, Chaired by Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs, U.T. Chandigarh, wherein all the details about the three plays were shared by Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs.
Addressing the gathering Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS, Director Cultural Affairs said, “the three day festival will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Smt. Kirron Kher on 26th May 2016. The festival will have artists from Bollywood”. Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS further added that the tickets for the plays can be purchased online through the official website of Tagore Theatre or can be purchased from Tagore Theatre, sector 18 Chandigarh. The cost of the tickets is of Rs. 200 & Rs. 300.

The details of the three plays are -

26th May –Tota Maina Ki Kahani

About the Play-    ‘Tota Maina ki Kahani’ is a family comedy play which revolves around a young married couple 3 yrs. down their marriage and not getting along because of small problems between them, resulting in filing divorce. The role that the elders, their parents and a loving neighbour play to help them stay connected to each other is hilarious and in a situational comic style. It makes the young generation know about values and tradition and believe in the institution of marriage, making it more reliable and strong.
Starring - Liliput and Himani Shivpuri
Duration  2 hours 10 minutes including interval of 10 minutes.
                                 

27th May –  Anzam – E – Gulistan  Kyahoga?

About the Play -       This hindi play presents current corrupt system. It shows the pain of common man and how high command officers exploit their rights. Governing bodies like People Representatives, Government Officials, and Mediators & Bureaucrats have been named or called as Owls by Writer in this corrupt system. Food Series and Darwin’s Theory have been used to show this in a comic way.
Starring –Dharamveer Bharti
Duration  1hr 30 Minutes including 10 Minutes interval

28th May – “TULSI”

About the Play -   It is a 'mono act musical play' the play depicts the entire life sketch of the saint poet Goswami Tulsidas of medieval period. The pious soul of Goswami Tulsidas comes on the earth for a day and tells his own story. It’s interesting to know, how an orphan beggar boy becomes the greatest poet of India.

Starring – Shikhar Sen
Duration   2 hrs including 10 Minutes interval.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
