3rd International Day of Yoga to be held in Sector 17 Plaza Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 19th June 2017: The City Beautiful is going to witness celebrations of the 3rd International Day of Yoga at Sector 17 Plaza, Chandigarh on 21st June 2017. Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh will be the Chief Guest on this occasion.

 Sh. J. P. Nadda, Union Minister Health,  Smt. Kirron Kher, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh will also be present on the occasion. At this event around 3000 participants are expected to perform Yoga in accordance with the common Yoga protocol given by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. 

The participants will be from various collaborating organizations from the city i.e. Patanjali, Art of living, Govt. College for Yoga Education and Health Sector-23, Brahmrishi Yoga Training College Sector-19, Brahm Kumaris, Yoga Federation of India, Chandigarh, International Naturopathy organization, Chandigarh Yoga Sabha, Bihar School of Yoga for Physical and Mental Health, Red Cross, Chandigarh Yoga Association, Himalayan Yoga, Sachitta Yoga and Chandigarh Police.

In addition to the main celebrations at Plaza Sector-17, Chandigarh, Yoga sessions will be held in the premises of all the above organizations.  Besides these Yoga will also be performed at Sukhna Lake by NSS representatives, at Burail Jail by Yoga Federation of India, at Cricket stadium by Sports Department, at Snehalaya and 38 Govt. Schools of Chandigarh by AYUSH Department & in various parks of Chandigarh.

Multi level parking in Sector-17 will be made free for public till 08:30 a.m. for this purpose.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
