Anti Rabies Campaign in Chandigarh (UT) Villages

Chandigarh, 14th June 2017: In continuation of Mass Anti Rabies Vaccination programme in Chandigarh (U.T) villages, the SPCA organized the camp in co-ordination with Department of Animal Husbandry, Chandigarh at village Makhan Majra and Raipur Kalan today. On this day 65 dogs which included 42 stray and 23 pets were vaccinated. Working under the guidance of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh cum President SPCA, the programme was started on 22nd May from village Kaimbwala, till date 325 dogs had been vaccinated against Rabies during these camps.

On this occasion Capt. Karnail Singh, Director Animal Husbandry disclosed that during this drive next camp will be organized in following villages:

The camp was attended by Dr. Kanwarjit Singh, Joint Director Animal Husbandry-cum-Hony General Secretary SPCA, who appealed the local residents to involve themselves in the campaigns to tackle the problem of stray dog and make this drive more effective. The Human Education Program was conducted in which pamphlets were distributed and also short film was displayed for the awareness of residents regarding how to prevent Animals and human being from Rabies.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
