Chandigarh,
14th July, 2017: 2nd Anniversary of “World Youth Skills
Day” was celebrated by U.T. Chandigarh Skill Development Mission” in
collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation at SD College, Sector
32, Chandigarh. The occasion was graced by Worthy Chief Guest, Sh. Anurag
Agarwal ,IAS, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary Technical Education along with Sh. S
Askar Ali, IAS, Assistant Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh.
Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS,
Mission Director, Chandigarh Skill Development Mission, expressed his views on
various Skill Initiatives taken by UT Chandigarh Skill Development Mission in
Chandigarh. Mr. Rajat Bhatnagar, State Engagement Officer NSDC, highlighted
various schemes and Initiatives taken up by the MSDE/NSDC in UT Chandigarh and
PAN India.
The
Chief Guest highlighted about various initiatives being taken by Ministry with
special focus on up-gradation of ITI’s and Skill Development Projects in the
region. He also highlighted that there is need for implementing counseling
system in all schools of Chandigarh so that all these students can get proper
guidance regarding their career. During the event various students and
Industries Members were also honored from their esteem contribution in Skill
Development through Various Scheme and job letters from various industries were
distributed to the students who completed the skilling courses.
The
event is also accompanied by Skill Rally at Dhanas by joint venture DPI(S), DHE,
NSS, NSDC and UT Chandigarh Skill Development Mission. During rally more than
100 Students participated and create awareness about Skill India Mission.
