Job Fair at Govt. Industrial Training Institute for Women

Chandigarh, 6th July, 2017: The Govt. Industrial Training Institute for Women, Sector 11, Chandigarh organized a Job Fair in the premises of the Institute today, in collaboration with Tata Strive – who has tie-up with more than 20 companies for placement of the students. All the 20 companies under the banner of Tata Strive attended the job fair and intensively interviewed the students and selected the best ones for their companies.  Tata STRIVE, an initiative of Tata Community Initiatives Trust, and the first Group CSR programme, addresses the pressing need of skilling India's youth for employment, entrepreneurship and community enterprise.
Earlier, Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Joint Secretary-cum-Director, Technical Education, UT, Chandigarh inaugurated the Job Fair and congratulated the students, staff and Principal of the Institute in organizing such a big Job Fair in which twenty companies from Tata Strive and twenty other companies have participated. Out of a total of 525 students enrolled, 315 were selected by the companies from different streams with a package ranging from Rs.8000 to Rs.15,000 per month, according to their calibre.
Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli while interacting with the students appearing for Interview emphasised the need for improving  their soft skills including verbal communication and to have right attitude towards their jobs so that they can hundred percent contribute towards the development of the Nation and the Society attitude. Further, Sh. Popli informed the gathering that similar Job Fairs would also be organized in other technical institutes for the benefit of the students.
The Principal of the Institute – Sh. Rajan Dogra appreciated the efforts of the Tata Strive and other companies in selecting large number of students of the Institute for various jobs and offering them on the spot appointment letters.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
