Celebrations of Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday

Chandigarh, 2nd August, 2017:- The Department of Rural Development and Panchayat, U.T., Chandigarh has been observing Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday from 1st August 2017 to 10th August 2017.  On the opening day a District level function was held at village Daria on 01.08.2017.  On this occasion, Tree Plantation was held with the assistance of Blood Bank Society, PGI, Chandigarh.  The programme was held to promote Blood Donation and also to create awareness on the eradication of Thalassemia.   The Social Welfare Department made the people aware about the various welfare schemes which are being implemented by the Social Welfare. 

                    On 2.8.2017, a function was held at Khuda Lahora, Khuda Jassu.  Tree Plantation was held and awareness on the Thalassemia was made by the Blood Bank Society, PGI, Chandigarh.  The Social Welfare Department also apprised the residents about the various welfare schemes which are being implemented by them.  The Director Rural Development & Panchayats, Smt. Navjot Kaur, PCS presided over the function and made an appeal to the people to take part in Plantation of Trees and also the various welfare programmes of the Chandigarh Administration.  She also gave assurance for every assistance as and when needed by the people for their upliftment.
