Chandigarh, 21st Sept, 2017: In the series of Celebration of  “Wildlife Week, 2017”,  the Department of Forests & Wildlife, Chandigarh Administration is organizing following events to sensitize the masses for the protection and conservation of wildlife and its habitat :-

Nature/ Wildlife Week Trek  (Nepli to Kansal Loghut) in Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary
        The “Nature and Wildlife Trek” inside Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary will be arranged by Department of Forests & Wildlife at 7.00 AM i.e. as per Calendar of Trekking available on website. The Nature and Wildlife Trek will be started from Nepli and culminated at Kansal Log Hut. The Nature/Wildlife Trek will be   approximately 7.5 Km in length and passing through three Hillocks reaching a maximum height of 1500 feet. The participants of the trek were divided into groups of around 50-60 people.
       Anybody can participate in this Trek and get                                 it registered himself/ herself as per format & information             available on website of Chandigarh Administration i.e.  http://chandigarh.gov.in/dept_forest.htm. Any interested applicant  who is willing to participate in the said event are requested                  to fill the prescribed form  and then send it to the email id of Forests & Wildlife Department, UT Chandigarh i.e. forestchandigarh@gmail.com or the applicant can also submit the duly filled up prescribed form at the office of Department of Forests & Wildlife, UT Chandigarh, Paryavaran Bhawan                     (2nd Floor), Sector 19-B, Madhya Marg, Chandigarh during working hours before 28th September, 2017 upto 5.00 PM.                         The nomination shall be on First Come First Serve basis.

‘Walkathon for Wildlife Conservation’ at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh.

        A ‘Walkathon for Wildlife Conservation’ shall be conducted             at 8.00 AM at Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh by the Forests & Wildlife  Department,UT Chandigarh in collaboration with NGO – Yuvsatta, Chandigarh, as a part of Wildlife Week Celebrations in which large number of International and National students are likely to participate.
       Anybody can participate in this event.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
