Indian Red Cross Society runs Raen Basera

Chandigarh 6^th January 2018: Indian Red Cross Society, U.T. Branch, Chandigarh is running a Raen Basera (Night Shelter) near Local Bus Stand Complex in Sector 17, Chandigarh with the capacity of 105 beds. Keeping in view of the extreme chilled weather conditions, it has been decided that the homeless/needy poor people like beggars, rickshaw pullers, pavement dwellers etc. will be given shelter in the Raen Basera, Sector 17, Chandigarh free of cost. The Hall No.5 and 6 of Raen Basera, Sector 17, Chandigarh has been kept reserved and will be available exclusively for homeless/needy poor people during winter season.

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital. This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
