Chandigarh 24th January 2018: The Market Committee, U.T. Chandigarh in association with “Chandigarh State Agricultural Marketing Board and Chandigarh Administration” has integrated existing Mandi at Sector-26, Chandigarh with e-NAM i.e. National Agriculture Market today.
National Agriculture Market (NAM) is a pan-India electronic trading portal which networks the existing APMC mandis to create a unified national market for agricultural commodities. The NAM Portal provides a single window service for all APMC related information and services. This includes commodity arrivals & prices, buy & sell trade offers, provision to respond to trade offers, among other services. This is a precious and prime scheme of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Co-operation, Government of India, New Delhi which has been launched today by the Governor of Punjab & the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri V.P. Singh Badnore in the presence of Sh. Parimal Rai, I.A.S., Adviser to the Administrator, Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, I.A.S., Finance Secretary -cum- Secretary Agriculture, U.T. Chandigarh, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner -cum- Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, Chandigarh, Sh. Kulwinder Singh, Chairman, Market Committee, Chandigarh and Sh. Vijay Jesdassan, General Manager, Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. (the Strategic Partner of e-NAM).
This was the dream scheme of the Marketing Board and Market Committee, U.T. Chandigarh which has been materialized today. Market Committee, Chandigarh under the accomplished guidance of Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner -cum- Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, Chandigarh and continuous supervision of Sh. Kulwinder Singh, Chairman, Market Committee, Chandigarh, has successfully launched this scheme today. Market Committee, Chandigarh has made elaborate arrangements for this scheme in Market Committee Office like establishment of e-Auction Hall, Assaying Lab etc. for the convenience of farmers and traders where the farmers can get the assaying facilities and the traders can use the bidding infrastructure without any charges. To ensure that all the arrangements are properly made and the scheme is launched successfully, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner -cum- Secretary, State Agricultural Marketing Board, Chandigarh personally visited the Market Committee Office, Sector-26, Chandigarh and checked the arrangements made.
