National Deworming Day

Chandigarh, 9th February, 2018: National Deworming Day (NDD) was launched today on 9th February 2018 from Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sector 15, U.T. Chandigarh. All children in age group of 2-19 years will be administered Deworming tablets, free of cost in all schools & Aaganwadies of Chandigarh, followed by the mop-up day on February 15th 2018. Students are  appraised with education training practice on  the importance of “Hand washing” & and Maintaining personal Hygiene. 
On this occasion, Director Health & Family Welfare, Dr. G. Dewan, addressed children on key points to prevent worm infestation & importance of National Deworming Day. He stressed that worm infections can cause anemia, malnourishment, impaired mental and physical development and may cause a serious threat to children’s health, education, and productivity. The infected children cannot concentrate on their studies and they find very hard to put up their daily activities. 
He further emphasized that parasitic worms are among the most common infections worldwide. It lives in human intestines and consume nutrients meant for the human body. They produce thousands of eggs each day, which are passed in faeces and spread to others in area used for public toilet. Proper hand Washing and sanitation play an important role in preventing such disease.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
