Chandigarh Administration Geared up for Chandigarh Skill Test 2018

Chandigarh, 14th March 2018: Chandigarh Administration is all geared up organising Chandigarh Skill Test 2018. In this skill test students of Chandigarh will participate under various categories like Poly-mechanics and Automation, Manufacturing Team Challenge, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering CAD, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Welding, Web Design and Development, Industrial Control, Mobile Robotics, Carpentry, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Fashion Technology, Patisserie and Confectionery, Restaurant Service, Prototype Modeling etc.

A  Meeting in this regard of State Level Executive Committee was held on 13th March 2018 under the chairmanship of Sh. Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration. Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Joint Secretary Technical Education-cum- Director Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration, Principals, officials of various institutes of Chandigarh Administration (Technical Education) and various Industry partners like CII, Maruti- Suzuki were present in the meeting.

Chandigarh Skill Test is part of the World Skills Competition which is the largest skill competition in the world  which will be held in RUSSIA (Kazan) in the year 2019 and is held once every two years in one of the member countries with more than 1000 youth under 22 years competing in more than 50 trades.   

The main aim of the competition is to identify and train the talented youth in country for winning medals at World Skills & other international competitions.

The Chandigarh Skill Test 2018 will be held in the month of April-May 2018 in various institutes of Chandigarh i.e. CCET (Degree Wing) Sector -26, CCET (Diploma Wing) Sector 26, Indo-Swiss Training Centre, Govt. Industrial Training Institute Sector 11, Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Sector 42 etc. The students of Chandigarh can register for the CHANDIGARH SKILL TEST 2018 on the web portal i.e.www.utcsdm.org/RegistrationForm.aspx

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
