National Immunization Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindagi Ki’

Chandigarh, 13th March 2018: 
104291 no of children got immunized during the three day National Immunization Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindagi Ki’ in UT Chandigarh conducted from 11th – 13th  March, 2018. The coverage is 4055 Children more than the second NID round of Pulse Polio carried out last year. The enhanced coverage is owing to the Night vigil i.e Taare Zameen Par being implemented during which 351 no of children have beem vaccinated in the night hours in different parts of the city like railway station, bus stands, streets, showroom corridors etc. Pulse Polio Campaign is being done 
Nationwide to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 years with Oral Polio Drops.

Day 1 of the campaign was dedicated for Booth activity and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to ensure that no child is left unvaccinated and the children found without the dose were immunized there and then by the visiting team. Special emphasis was laid upon the high risk/ vulnerable areas.
Stringent monitoring & supervision was done at various levels by the internal supervisors & external monitors. Director Health & Family Welfare cum Mission Director NHM appreciated the efforts and motivation of all the volunteers who participated in this campaign and thanked all the teams for their tireless efforts. Special efforts extended by Police Department by ensuring repeated announcements of the pre recorded message sent by Health Department for the awareness as well as cooperation of the residents at large has also been appreciated.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
