Policy framed to provide Financial Assistance to the Pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra



Chandigarh 12th March 2018: The  Administrator UT Chandigarh is pleased to frame a scheme to provide financial assistance to the Pilgrims of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. 

The scheme is called as the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2018 that will commence with effect of 2018 and financial assistance will be provided to ten those applicants who will complete the Yatra after this date.

Financial assistance shall be provided to maximum ten number of Pilgrims who are bonafide residents of Chandigarh and have completed the Yatra through Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

The financial assistance will be provided upto the extent of Rs 25000 or fifty percent of the actual expenditure per person whichever is less.

The pilgrim who has completed the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra shall submit an application with the completion certificate within two months from the date of completion of the Yatra through the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to Director Tourism Department, Chandigarh. After scrutiny of the documents received from the Pilgrims, the Director Tourism shall submit the same within fifteen days to the Administrative Secretary for approvals. Once the approval is granted by the said Administrative Secretary, the requisite sanction shall be issued by the Director Tourism for payment for financial assistance through a demand draft. 

The application form in the prescribed format enclosed shall be required to be submitted to the Director Tourism along with following documents for his consideration and approval 
1. Attested copy of the permanent residential certificate (domicile) of Chandigarh 
2. Attested copy of the Yatra completion certificate from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India 
3. Attested copy of required visa and passport

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote".
