Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan

Chandigarh, 21st March, 2018: Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan’s ( RAA), an initiative of MHRD, Govt. of India was started in the year 2015-16 with the objective to connect school based knowledge to life outside the school by making teaching and learning of Mathematics and Science, a joyful and meaningful activity. In UT, Chandigarh, this project was started in 2015-16 as per the guidelines of MHRD in three Govt. Schools on pilot basis. Thereafter, till 2017-18, it was extended to 40 Govt. schools. Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali is the Mentoring Institute of UT, Chandigarh for Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan.
Teachers of 40 Govt. schools prepared different projects and activities in the subject of Mathematics and Science under Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan during the session 2017-18 under the guidance of Mentoring Institute. Teachers across the 40 schools demonstrated Projects and Activities during an event which was organized on 21.03.2018 at Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 35D, Chandigarh. Students of Elementary classes and fellow teachers of different Govt. schools witnessed this event.
The RAA event was inaugurated by Director School Education -cum -State Project Director –SSA Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar. DDSE- cum-Deputy State Project Director, SSA, Mrs. Saroj Mittal, District Education Officer, Mrs. Anujit Kaur, Assistant Director Adult Education –cum-Mission Coordinator, SSA,  Mrs. Alka Mehta were also present on the occasion  .
School Principal, Mrs. Ravinder Kaur welcomed the chief guest and apprised him on the progress made by RAA in these three years. Mr. Rubinderjit Singh Brar congratulated the teachers and students for their innovative approaches in Science and Mathematics.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
