Development Mission, Directorate of Technical Education Department successfully conducted India Skills
Chandigarh 2018 Competition in collaboration with National Skill Development
Corporation under World Skill Competition, 2019 in 21 Skill Trades from 6th April to 13th April at
CCET (Degree Wing), CCET (Diploma Wing), GITIW, Indo Swiss Training Centre, CIHM,
AIHM, Govt. College of Arts andPEC (Deemed to be University).This event
opened its swings on 13th March 2018 under the chairmanship of Sh.
Anurag Agarwal, IAS, Home Secretary-cum- Secretary Technical Education,
Chandigarh Administration.
Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS,Mission
Director cum Joint Secretary Technical Education congratulated the team headed
by Dr. Manpreet Singh Gujral, Principal, CCET (Degree Wing) for successfully
organizing level 1 of the Skill Competition. The Chandigarh Administration
selected Chandigarh College Of Engineering and Technology (CCET) as Nodal
Centre for whole event.

Chandigarh Administration successful in respect of India Skill
Chandigarh 2018 Competition. This event is organized by the Chandigarh
Administration for the first time. The different Skill Trades arePolymechanics
and Automation, Manufacturing Team Challenge, Mechatronics, Mechanical
Engineering CAD, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Welding, Web Design and Development,
Industrial Control, Mobile Robotics, Carpentry, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Fashion
Technology, Patisserie and Confectionery, Restaurant Service,Aircraft
Maintenance, IT Software Solutions for Buisness, Cooking, Painting and
Decorating and Architectural Stonemasonry.
More
than 1000 number of Candidates from Tricity registered in skill competition and
approximate 500 Candidates participated for competition .The experts were
appointed from renowned Industries.The parameters of
judgment were based on international norms followed in the global industries. They
appreciated the hidden skills of Youth of Chandigarh and motivated all the
participants. The enthusiasm, creativity and passion seen in participants is
highly appreciable. Appreciation Certificates were distributed to the
participants on the spot.These competitions were held to enlighten the national
policy of Skill India which aims to
improve employability of youth.
Successful participants from
various Skill Trades will be given training from Industries and they will be appearing
for State Level Competition which will
be held before 15th May 2018 in the above mentioned institutes.
