Monitoring Committee Constituted for monitoring issues relating to discrimination faced by North East People

Chandigarh, 4th April 2018: Pursuant to judgment dated 14.12.2016 of Hon’ble Supreme Court passed in the matter of W.P. (Civil) No. 103 of 2014 filed by Karma Dorjee and Ors. Vs UOI & Ors, a Monitoring Committee has been constituted in Ministry of Home Affairs for monitoring and redressal of issues/grievances relating to racial discrimination faced by the North East people residing in different parts of the country. The composition of the Committee is as follows:

The general public is hereby informed through this Notice that any person or group of persons or communities hailing from North East who claim to be victims or have faced any act of racial abuse/racial atrocities/racial violence/racial discrimination in any part of the country, may send their complaints/suggestions/grievances at the e-mail ne.complaints@mha.gov.in

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
