Chandigarh, 14th April, 2018: Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T Chandigarh Sh. VP Singh Badnore, today flagged of the School of Wheels on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti in the presence of Sh. Ajoy Kumar Sinha, IAS, Finance Secretary, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Rajiv Gupta, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration. 

Indian red Cross Society, Chandigarh has customized one of its vehicles into Mobile School for underprivileged children which will be equipped with books, educational toys and study material. This unit will work in collaboration with Chandigarh Child Protection Society. The team of a teacher and a helper will be visiting different sites\ slums and construction sites where these children are either begging or involved in other illegal activities. 

This mobile school aims to bring education to these Children who are forced to work or beg while their parents don’t understand the value of education. This mobile school will reach out to them and will provide them informal schooling. They will be taught personal hygiene, socially acceptable behavior, dangers of tobacco and drugs and their responsibility towards the neighborhood. They will be further motivated to go to regular schools once interest has been generated. This is an effort Chandigarh Red Cross Society to help under privilege children of the city. The School will cover Mandi Ground, Sector 33-34 Light Points, Sai Baba Mandir, Sector 29 near colony number 4, Dhanas Rehabilitation Colony, Mauli Jagran Near Gaushala Sector 45 and other locations around the city.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
