Chandigarh, 6th April, 2018: Sh. V. P. Singh Badnore, Administrator UT Chandigarh launched the website of Department of Prisons and Correctional Administration, Chandigarh at UT Secretariat today. Sh. Parimal Rai, IAS, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, UT Chandigarh, Sh. Tajender Singh Luthra, IPS, Director General of Police, UT, Chandigarh, Dr. O. P. Mishra, IPS, Inspector General of Prisons, UT, Chandigarh and Sh. Satish Kumar Jain, HCS, Additional I. G. Prisons, UT, Chandigarh were also present on this occasion. This website has all the information regarding vocational and reformational activities being carried out inside the prisons. The main aim of showcasing these activities for the public preview is to change public perceptions regarding prisons and the acceptability of the prisoners after their release.

This website also has information regarding acts & rules applicable to the Department of Prisons and Correctional Administration, UT, Chandigarh and the information for the visitors. Now the visitors can know their day of visiting and timing, documentary proof for meeting etc. online.
