Online Prospectus for centralized admissions in Government and Government Aided Colleges for the year 2018-2019


Chandigarh 29th May 2018: The online Prospectus for centralized admissions in Government and Government Aided Colleges for the year 2018-2019 was released today by Sh. B.L. Sharma, IAS, Education Secretary, Chandigarh Administration in the presence of Sh. Rakesh Kumar Popli, PCS, Director Public Relations and other senior officials of the Higher Education Department at the UT Secretariat. Chandigarh Administration has taken this unique initiative of accepting online Application Forms for admission to all Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate courses in Government colleges and most of the courses in Grant-in-Aid Colleges for the session 2018-2019. For the convenience of applicants, Centralized Counseling would be held for certain UG and PG Courses.

The prospectus is available on the official website of Higher Education Department i.e.  http://dhe.chd.gov.in. It contains information regarding the details of courses, number of seats in various colleges and the procedure to apply in Graduate, Post-Graduate and Under Graduate Colleges. There would also be information regarding Add-On & Job Oriented Elective Courses and Honours Courses. The entire admission process, starting from buying a prospectus, has been made online. Along with this, on the basis of their performance and criteria, students merit lists will be prepared and uploaded on this portal. This novel practice is going to save applicants a lot of time energy and money.

All the applicants have to apply online only; no offline application submission mode is available. However, the hardcopy of the Online Application form is required to be submitted in respective college on the day of counseling as per admission schedule given in the Prospectus. If an applicant is interested in applying in more than one course/college then the applicant has to fill separate online application forms for each course/college. The admission procedure will begin online from 30th May, 2018.
