Chandigarh Administration pays tribute to Sh. Balram Ji Das Tandon


Chandigarh, 15th August 2018: Saddened on the sudden demise of Sh. Balramji Das Tandon, Hon’ble Governor of Chhattisgarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Chandigarh, Sh. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana, Smt. Kirron Kher, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, Sh. Balbir Singh Sidhu, Cabinet Minister Punjab, Sh. Karan Avatar Singh, Chief Secretary Punjab, Sh. Parimal Rai, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T Chandigarh and other senior officials of Chandigarh Administration, Punjab and Haryana paid tribute to the legendary leader at his residence on 14th August 2018.

The celebrated leader has been well known for his selfless service for the poor and needy people. His long political career was devoted for the people of India. The stalwart of Indian politics will always be remembered for his contribution to the Social and Political fields.

People connected with the deceased Governor or influenced by him gathered at his residence to bid him the last farewell. The Administrator also laid wreaths on the mortal remains of Sh. Balramji Das Tandon and expressed his grief over the loss of a seasoned politician and a true statesman.

The mortal remains of the leader were brought to Ambala via a special aircraft and then by road to Chandigarh, his hometown on 14th August 2018. The Governor of Punjab and Haryana recieved the mortal remains of the Governor of Chhattisgarh at his residence.  The Ministers of Haryana, Sh. Rao Narbir and Sh. Manish Grover received the mortal remains at the Ambala Airport on behalf of Govt of Haryana. 

The final rites will be performed with full state honor on 16th August at 1:30 PM at Cremation Ground, Sector 25, Chandigarh. Sh. Rajnath Singh, Hon'ble Union Home Minister will also attend the funeral of the Late Governor of Chhattisgarh.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
