SDM Enquiry Reveals Possible Murder of Baby Girl

Chandigarh, 28th August 2018: A complaint was received from village Hallomajra, U.T, Chandigarh regarding the murder of a baby girl of around 25 days through police station, Sector 31, Chandigarh.  Acting on this complaint the Arjun Sharma, IAS, SDM (East) ordered an inquiry U/s 176 Cr.P.C.   In this inquest, the SDM (E) constituted a board of doctors to exhume the body and to carry out the postmortem of the body.  The body was exhumed in the presence of SDM (E) and the statements of relatives were recorded.

Subsequently postmortem revealed that the death has been caused by blunt force which was an impact injury on the brain of the baby girl.  The SDM (E) concluded that the death of the baby girl in Hallomajra was an unnatural one.   Accordingly suspecting foul play and murder, the SDM (E) directed the local police to register an FIR and catch the culprits responsible for causing the death of the baby girl.
