State Level Competitions held under Chandigarh Skill Development Mission

Chandigarh, 30th August, 2018: The Chandigarh Skill Development Mission has been making sincere efforts in analyzing Skill competencies of the Students at National and International level by continuously putting best efforts to scale up the skills of the children, thereby helping them show their potential at various Levels. For participation in the World Skill Competition scheduled to be held at Kazan, Russia, 2019, the Chandigarh Skill Development Mission selected 41 students through State Level Competitions who were facilitated By Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore on May 2018. These students participated in Regionals held at Jaipur, Lucknow and Bangalore. It is a moment of pride that the following 19 students have been selected to participate in the Nationals scheduled in Oct 2018.

Among these students, Dahim Yaseen Bhat, the winner of the Regional competition in Architectural Stonemasonry held at Jaipur, will be representing India at the Euro Skills scheduled in Sept 2018 at Hungary. India Skill Chandigarh 2018 was the first project of Chandigarh Skill Development Mission constituted by Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Sh. V.P. Singh Badnore in the year 2017. The performance of the students at Regionals reflected the efforts put in by the faculty and also motivates the technical Institutions to improvise their level of training up to International Level.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. 'X’ houses will be covered in the coming days too to track the unimmunized children and give them polio drops. “Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
