Teej Celebrations



Chandigarh, 7th August 2018: The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration is celebrating Teej Festival in coordination with Society for Maintenance & Development of Rock Garden Chandigarh at Phase 3, Rock Garden, Chandigarh on 11th and 12th August, 2018.

Various activities and dance/cultural performances are being organized during the celebration of Teej Festival. The inauguration of the event will be done on 11th August at 05:00 p.m. with the various performances of Artists by NZCC, Live Police Band & various cultural dances such as Gidda, Bhangra and special performance from Vrindawan dance.

As a part of event, Food Competition by ladies will also be organised on 12.08.2018 and a Musical Performance by Punjabi renowned artist from 06:00 p.m. onwards will also be organized during the second day. A full day activities/performance will be done by NZCC artists/performer. Various food stall will also be set up by CIHM, AIHM & CITCO and exhibition stalls will also be there during the festival. The Govt. College of Arts, Chandigarh is participating during the event and deputing students interested for Mehandi Making etc.

The Rock Garden Society will decorate Phase 3 of Rock Garden & also decorate the Jhulla to mark the Teej by colourful celebration. On this occasion the Director Tourism Chandigarh, Sh. Jitender Yadav, IAS expressed that the Chandigarh Tourism has a clear mandate of cultivating tourism to the City Beautiful through these regular festivals and events, Chandigarh Tourism hopes to create a lively environment in the city, with an ambience of fun and festivity for all tourist to witness and enjoy.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
