Celebration of POSHAN MAAH by Chandigarh Administration


Chandigarh, 11th September 2018: The POSHAN Maah as started by the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is being Celebrated throughout the country from 1st to 30th September, 2018. 

The theme of the POSHAN Maah for September 2018 is "Har Ghar POSHAN Tyohaar”. The basic objective of this POSHAN Maah event is to reduce stunting, under-nutrition, anemia (among young children, women and adolescent girls) & to intensify awareness generation on the importance of nutrition for health.

Today, Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi held ‘Direct Samvad’ with the Anganwadi workers, Asha, ANMs & members of Self Help Groups of different states/U.T. of the country through video conferencing which was Live interaction, telecasted by Doordarshan and NIC. 

The motive of the  interaction session was to provide an opportunity to the field functionaries to discuss their best practices with the Prime Minister to successful implementation of the POSHAN Abhiyaan and about the various activities being undertaken by them under the Line Ministries and how it has impacted their lives.

Under this Direct Samvad , the Department of Social welfare Chandigarh Administration has organised the Live Telecast of the Direct Samvad programmes at all the Anganwadi centres of U.T. Chandigarh for the Anganwadi workers, ANMs, Aasha, PRI Members and the masses.

The work is been done with great enthusiasm and the administration is sure that the people will tend to bring a change in their lifestyles.

Pulse Polio Campaign

Chandigarh, 4 th   April, 2017:   Activities conducted for three days i.e. from 2nd – 4th April, 2017 during Pulse Polio Campaign ‘Do Boond Zindgi Ki’ to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 Years with Oral Polio Drops were successfully completed today. The campaign was held for three days in which Day 1 was dedicated for Booth Round and Day 2 & 3 were planned for door to door visit to immunize all children of Chandigarh in this age group with Oral Polio drops. A total of 1, 00, 236 children were immunized with oral polio drops during pulse polio activity and 929 teams visited 2, 65, 042 Houses and immunized Children with oral polio drops on day 2 and 3. E auction of various commercial, residential and industrial sites to begin in Chandigarh

7th January 2019: Chandigarh Administration is about to begin the e auction process of various commercial, residential and industrial sites in Chandigarh. 10 residential sites on freehold basis,13 commercial sites on leasehold basis and 1 industrial site on leasehold basis are proposed to be e auctioned. The auction will be made public on 9th January 2019 at 9:00 AM and the documents can be submitted/EMD can be paid from 9th january till 23rd January 2019. Document/EMD approvals will be given from 24th January till 30th January. In addition to this the Estate Department will create a help desk at Estate Office Chandigarh on the above dates to create digital signatures of the applicants. Bidding will begin from 31st January (9:00 AM) till 4th February 2019 (till 4 PM)
