GMSH 16 & Indian Dietetics Association Celebrates Poshan Mah


Chandigarh, 6th September, 2018: Dietetics Department , Govt. Multi Specialty hospital , Sector -16, Chandigarh in Association with Indian Dietetics Association, Chandigarh Chapter celebrated National Nutrition Month , Poshan Mah on  the theme “Ensuring focused intervention on addressing under-nutrition during the first 1000 days of the child: Better Health Child”.

The emphasis of the Continued Nutrition Education (CNE)–cum workshop was to lay emphasis on the converging of various agencies namely Department of Social Welfare, Education and Health in disseminating the richness of all the nutrients can be incorporated to make wholesome diet in a daily routine. So that all parameter such as Optimal Breastfeeding, Growth Monitoring, Hygiene and Sanitation, Food Fortification, can be improved under the converging  scheme of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to have a Holistic approach in maintenance of good health.

The Chief Guest of occasion Sh. B.L Sharma, Secretary Education –cum- Secretary Social Welfare stressed upon that National Nutrition Month is comprehensive approach towards raising nutrition level in the country on a war footing.

The Director Health & Family Welfare, Dr. G. Dewan, congratulated the organizer of the Dietetics Department and India Dietetics Association in taking a lead during their National Nutrition Month far taking ahead the Poshan Abhiyan to the last beneficiary in the chain through inter-mediatory agencies of the Social Welfare, Education and Health Department.

The Chief Dietician, Mrs. Manisha Arora, stressed upon the Dietetics Department and in Govt. / Private sectors under the ages of India Dietetics Association pledge to provide all valuable inputs for the uplift of nutrition status from womb to last stage of life which cover stunting, wasting under Nutrition , anemia , Low blood pressure in children.  

Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Consultant Paediatrics, IMA President, Chandigarh, Dr.  Harbir Bajwa, Consultant Gynaecologist,(Former Director Health Services,  Punjab) , Dr. Ritu Pradhan, Professor Head (Food + Nutrition), Govt. Home Science College, Sector -10, Chandigarh deliberated on various topics covered under the  umbrella of  National Nutrition Month . The occasion was graced by Mrs Navjot Kaur , Director Social  Welfare, Mrs. Madhu Sharma, President , Indian Dietetics Association , Chandigarh Chapter and Dr. Mrs Sunita Malhotra, Vice President, Indian Dietetics Association , Chandigarh Chapter.

“Vote for Healthy Democracy” Campaign

Chandigarh, 18th March, 2019: Taking the “Vote for Healthy Democracy” campaign forward to motivate citizens to use their Right to Vote during the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections of Chandigarh, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh today launched a stamp with the message of "Voting is your Right, Please Cast your Vote". The stamp will be included on all the OPD cards of the patients who visit the hospital.  This initiative is a part of the drive undertaken by Medical Community to motivate more and more people to participate and vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. As part of this campaign, IMA has designed stickers with the message “Vote for a healthy democracy”, which will be stuck on all the prescriptions of patients.
